BLACK Partners with the Uganda Olympic Committee as Official Lifestyle Tech Partner
In a move set to elevate Uganda’s sports ecosystem, BLACK has officially partnered with the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) as the Official Lifestyle Technology Partner. This strategic collaboration aims to support Olympic movement activities, enhance event experiences through BLACK’s lifestyle tech products, and celebrate outstanding athletes across Uganda.
The partnership was marked with a spectacular awards dinner at Mestil Hotel, Kampala, on Saturday, following the UOC Annual General Meeting. BLACK proudly sponsored three key awards categories, recognizing Uganda’s top sporting talents of the year.
Male Athlete of the Year: Samuel Cherop Simba
Samuel Cherop Simba emerged as the Male Athlete of the Year. At 19 years old, Simba showcased exceptional talent on the track, earning a silver medal in the 10,000m with a time of 29:06.58 and a bronze medal in the 5,000m with a time of 13:46.45. His achievements highlight his resilience and potential as one of Uganda’s rising athletics stars.
Female Athlete of the Year: Gloria Anna Muzito
Gloria Anna Muzito was honored as the Female Athlete of the Year. She secured gold medals in the 50m and 100m freestyle and a bronze in the 200m freestyle. These accomplishments underline her dominance in Ugandan swimming and her growing profile as one of the country’s top athletes.
Lifetime Achievement Award: Sheila Agonzibwa
The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Sheila Agonzibwa, recognizing her enduring contributions to Ugandan sports. Sheila’s leadership and commitment across various sporting disciplines have left a lasting impact on athletes and administrators alike, cementing her legacy within Uganda’s Olympic movement.
Through this partnership, BLACK not only celebrated individual excellence but also showcased its lifestyle technology products, including audio and wearable devices, during the awards event. The collaboration extends to digital engagement, co-branded initiatives, and athlete recognition programs, aiming to create lasting value for both BLACK and the UOC.
